January has flown by! Or maybe it’s just me. Now that I’m old, everything goes by so quickly. Sometimes I feel like I need a pause button just to get through the weeks and stay caught up on everything. But as far as I know, that isn’t a thing yet. So I just have to keep trying to stay afloat. Luckily, reading and blogging have been going well so far this year, so I’m really happy about that. But it’s only the first month of the year so I’m trying to not get too cocky and just focus and getting stuff done!

Here’s what happened on the blog this month, in case you missed it!

Top Ten Tuesdays

Waiting on Wednesdays

Favorite January Reads

I read a bunch of enjoyable books this month but these were easily my most favorite. Both were five star reads for me and I highly recommend them!

Best Book Mail

I got some finished copies of some books I pre-ordered, which was pretty awesome, but the most exciting books this month were some approved eARCs from NetGalley!!!

Starry Eyes is definitely one of my most anticipated books from this year so I nearly jumped out of my seat when I was approved for it! I’m also very excited for Ashley Herring Blake’s next book and the follow up to last year’s Royal Bastards.

Coming Up in February

February is short but that doesn’t make it any less exciting! I’ll continue posting Top Ten Tuesday and Waiting on Wednesdays. I’ll also have reviews for The Wedding Date, Daughter of the Siren Queen, The Belles and The Unicorn Quest as well as a new type of review I’m calling Rapid-Fire. As the title suggests, those will just be very short reviews consisting of a few sentences each and each post will have several books in them. I just needed a way to get some more of the books I read reviewed here on the blog without having to spend so much time on full reviews for each. I hope you guys will think they’re okay. I’ve also decided to start my Dawson’s Creek Rewatch Project up again so look for those starting soon! I’ll also have the February giveaway up and I have a giveaway happening on Twitter for some YA romance ARCs, so be sure to check that out! (Especially because right now, there are only 2 entries!)

February is also the month of ALAMW! I’m so excited! I’m heading to Denver with my mom in tow again to check out the conference and hopefully pick up some great review books for the blog! I love ALAMW. If you’re a blogger or reviewer and you ever get a chance to go, you definitely should. Just grab a pass for the exhibit hall and wander around all the publishers booths. Everyone working there is super excited to talk about books with you and they have great ARCs. It’s so much more relaxed than BEA or BookCon and authors come to sign books as well so you can get the whole experience with a lot less craziness. I highly recommend it.

I hope you guys have a great month!

  1. Starry Eyes is one of my most anticipated reads too. I was broken hearted when I was “declined” on NG, but then I was approved on EW. All was right in the world again!!! I want to go to ALA someday, but CO is too far. I have to wait for it to hit the east coast again. BEA/BookCon is a train ride for me, so I usually go, but I am looking to go to a different con this year.
