Top Ten Tuesday is hosted each week by The Broke and The Bookish and allows us to combine our love of books with our love of lists. This week’s topic is: Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR.

There are so many books coming out this winter and I’m so excited! But this list always feels like the most important because it includes both the last books I’ll read in 2017 and the first books I’ll read in 2018. And the first books of the year always seem to set the mood for the rest of the reading year. I mean, I know that’s not actually true, but I still really want to set the tone right for the new year and picking great books for the very beginning of the year seems like the best way to do that. And 2017 hasn’t been a great year for me, I just feel like there haven’t been a lot of books that have blown me away, and I’m really hoping that 2018 will be different. So these are some of the books I’m hoping will help send 2017 out right and welcome a new amazing reading year for 2018!

What’s on your Winter TBR? Do you feel the same way about the first books you read in the new year?

  1. Great list! I know what you mean about the first books of the year setting the mood for the rest of the year – if you read an amazing book first thing in January it can give you such a reading boost. 2017 hasn’t been the greatest reading year for me either, like you I’ve read plenty of books that have been good but not many that have blown me away at all, hopefully 2018 will be a better reading year for both of us!

I still need to read the first Wires and Nerve volume – I loved The Lunar Chronicles so I should get to it soon!

  2. Such an amazing list! I cannot wait to get my hands on all of these and devour them. I’m a tiny bit more excited for Reign the Earth and Say You’ll Remember Me. Haven’t read a book by Katie McGarry in a while and I really need to step up my game! Daughter of the Pirate King is also high on my TBR so, hopefully, I’ll be able to get around to reading it soon! The cover for the sequel looks gorgeous! Hope you have a wonderful week!
