Run for the hills—temporarily. That's Colbie Albright's plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie's so over it that she's under it. She's also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunately, the guy who fishes Colbie out has her looking forward to Christmas among strangers. But she's pretty sure Spencer Baldwin won't be a stranger for long.
Spence's commitment to hiding from the Ghosts of Relationships Past means he doesn't have to worry about the powerful—okay, crazy hot chemistry—he's got with Colbie. Just because she can laugh at anything, especially herself... just because she's gorgeous and a great listener just because she gets Spence immediately doesn't mean he won't be able to let Colbie go. Does it?
and hope for a miracle.
Now the clock's ticking for Colbie and Spence: Two weeks to cut loose. Two weeks to fall hard. Two weeks to figure out how to make this Christmas last a lifetime.

I’m so excited to be a stop on the blog tour for Jill Shalvis’ new book! Because seriously, is there anything like a brand new Jill Shalvis book? No, there isn’t. I’m a huge fan and I love this series and get super excited everytime I see a new one coming out. They’re such a great distraction from real life and so addicting, I really can’t stop reading them! Especially this series because it follows such a great group of friends. You can read each one on its own with reading the previous books but I highly suggest starting at the beginning because the friendships that continue throughout the series really makes such a bigger impact when you’ve known them all and their stories and really been able to watch them grow. And in this one especially, I’d definitely tell you to read Accidentally on Purpose beforehand because Elle plays such a big part in this one, you’ll really appreciate her more if you’ve read her story. Also, I know it’s still a little early for some people to read Christmas romances but this one was actually pretty light on the holiday stuff. So don’t worry if you aren’t ready to go into full on holiday romance mode, this one is a great starter for the nights that are just starting to get a little cooler.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one. I’m not at all surprised by that but I do worry sometimes that books like this will just all start seeming very similar and nothing will feel new. But that’s just not the case. At least not with Shalvis books. And that’s why I always love reading them. They always have their own little thing and in this one it’s all about balancing work and romance and realizing that it’s okay to go after what you want. Both Colbie and Spence are workaholics and both have held themselves back from love for different reasons but as their relationship grows, they both start to see that the lives they’d set up for themselves might not be what they really need and that it’s okay to go after something they didn’t think they needed or wanted or deserved. I really enjoyed seeing both of them learn about how their pasts had shaped their outlook on life and love and what they were or weren’t capable of and deciding to change what they wanted to change.
In all honesty, though, their romance wasn’t my favorite out the group. It felt a little rushed to me and I definitely wasn’t really feeling the attraction they said they were feeling in the beginning. I think a lot of that was because they were both keeping a lot about themselves secret so it felt like they didn’t really know each other. I understand lust but for two people who claimed they were done with relationships, they sure jumped in pretty quickly. By the time they were opening up to each other, I was definitely rooting for them but it just took longer than I had hoped. Also, they don’t have a connected from their pasts like the other couples have and that surprised me a little bit. That was definitely something I enjoyed from the other books. I’m still a big fan of all of the friendships within these books and I definitely think anyone who loves contemporary romances should check out these books. They’re perfect for those times when you just need some swoony romances! And don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the bottom of the post!!!
Spence drew in a deep, shuddering breath that wasn’t much steadier than hers and pulled off his now crooked glasses. “Hang on a second.” He tossed them aside. “I need to check on something.”
“What?” she asked warily.
Once again he slowly drew her in, his eyes heated and focused on hers, infusing her with some of his calm. “I want to see if this is how it’s going to be.”
“How what’s going to be?” she whispered.
His kiss started out just as slow and thoughtful as the first, all careful control. But when his tongue touched hers, control flew straight out the window.
