June at a Glance

until-it-fades

June is over! And the year is officially half gone. It seems crazy to say that but it also feels a little bit good. Almost like just making it to this point in the year actually counts as accomplishing something. June wasn’t quite as productive as I had hoped it would be. Honestly, I just got lazy. And sometimes, I think we need that. I enjoyed a little bit of a break. Especially as far as Instagram and ARCs were concerned. Luckily, post scheduling is a thing and I definitely took advantage of that this month. That way I didn’t end up completely behind at least and was able to take the time away that I needed. I’m not convinced July is going to be much better, especially considering the holiday and camps and hot weather and basically just taking time off to do summery stuff with the kids. I think once the kids head back to school, then the blog will start to pick up again and I’ll be posting more often and, hopefully, more fun posts. But until then, I hope we can all enjoy some time to sit back and relax and enjoy some good books!

In the meantime, here’s what happened in June on the blog:

Most Exciting Book Mail

I was super lucky to be able to attend ALA Annual this year in Chicago and thanks to all of the amazing publishers, I was able to pick up these awesome books! I really cannot wait to jump into all of them!!

Also, over the course of the month, I was able to grab these eARCs as well.

League of American Traitors Mask of Shadows (Untitled, #1) Until It Fades Ordinary Mishaps and Inevitable Catastrophes (Frazzled, #2)

League of American Traitors * Mask of Shadows * Until It Fades * Frazzled #2

I’m really excited for all of these and I love how different they are from each other!

Favorite June Reads

Coming Up for Air The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue

I loved both of these and I highly recommend them. And if you haven’t read any of the Hundred Oaks books, you can read this one on its own but I definitely recommend the rest of the series as well! And since this one doesn’t come out until Tuesday, you have time to get started on the others before it’s available!

Coming Up In July

Like I said above, I was hoping summer would bring both inspiration and the time to write lots of fun blog posts but it’s turning out to not be the case. I’m sort of stuck in a blogging slump, but not in a way that makes me feel like quitting. Just one where everything feels repetitive and boring. I keep posting and I don’t intend to stop anytime soon, I just wish I could promise more fun and unique posts around here. But honestly, I don’t think that’s going to happen in July. Next month will be packed full with family and holidays and summer camps and just lots of stuff, which is good for life but bad for blogging. But the kids go back to school mid-August, so I’m holding off until then to really try and get myself back into some sort of creative mood. Until then, it’ll be reviews and giveaways and blog tours as usual. And I don’t mean to make that sound like it’ll be bad, I just don’t have the mental abilities right now to put in more effort for the really fun posts that often take more time than the regularly scheduled ones. I do have stuff I want to talk about, so when my brain gets back to normal and summer activities slow down, and we don’t need our trees trimmed and the electric worked on and the garage door fixed etc etc, then I’ll be ready to finally sit down and focus on those posts. But stick around in the meantime (PLEASE!! Don’t leave me!) and enjoy the summer to get some great reading done!
