Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love-she's lived through it twenty-six times. She crushes hard and crushes often, but always in secret. Because no matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can't stomach the idea of rejection. So she's careful. Fat girls always have to be careful.
Then a cute new girl enters Cassie's orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly's cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly's totally not dying of loneliness-except for the part where she is.Luckily, Cassie's new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. Will is funny, flirtatious, and just might be perfect crush material. Maybe more than crush material. And if Molly can win him over, she'll get her first kiss and she'll get her twin back.
There's only one problem: Molly's coworker, Reid. He's an awkward Tolkien superfan, and there's absolutely no way Molly could fall for him. Right?

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda was easily one of my favorite books from 2015. I’ve been waiting since I read it for another book from Albertalli and this one sounds like it’ll definitely be worth the wait! Plus, how perfect is that title?! (Side note: Did you see the latest casting news for the Simon movie? Check it out hereI’m so excited for this movie!) Reviews are already coming in and people are saying it’s adorable and relatable just like Simon but for different reasons. And if you read the synopsis above, you can probably see. I’m actually dying to read all about Molly and learn more about her. She seems like such a great main character already and barely know anything about her. But with Albertalli writing about her, I’m sure she’ll be perfect. Plus, as a twin, I love reading books with twins in them!

What are you waiting on this week?

  1. I haven’t read Simon! I did get an ARC of this one but it was unsolicited so I’m not sure I’ll read it. I’m not the biggest fan of YA contemporary, especially the tough-issue ones that break your heart (though this one might not be that type?). I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it!

Have a great week, Lori. =)
