November at a Glance

So. November happened. I wasn’t sure we’d come out on the other side but I guess we did. A lot happened this past month but I’m not even sure I know how to put it into words so I think I’m just going to focus on the goings on within the blog and reading and leave it at that. I do hope you all had a great month. Or at least a decent month. I know it can be easy to focus on the difficult moments so I really hope we can all take a moment to remember something good from November. For me, it was my kids’ birthdays, our trip to NYC, and Thanksgiving. And on the blog, here’s what happened:

Posts

Most Exciting Book Mail

Traveler (Traveler #1) Wintersong The Fallen Kingdom (The Falconer, #3)

I’m so excited and thankful to Swoon Reads, St. Martin’s Press, and Chronicle Books for these great new reads!! Seriously, I’m hugely excited for them and if you haven’t heard of them yet, I highly recommend you click on the covers and check them out! They’re all new YA fantasy books coming out next year and The Fallen Kingdom is the last book in The Falconer Trilogy. So go check them all out and add them to your TBRs!!

Favorite November Reads

If you’re into graphic novels, I read several this month that I really enjoyed:

Lady Killer (Lady Killer, #1) Locke & Key, Vol. 1: Welcome to Lovecraft Saga, Volume 6

Lady Killer Vol 1 by  Joelle Jones * Locke & Key Vol 1 by Joe Hill * Saga Vol 6 by Brian K. Vaughan

And then, my favorite books of the month:

Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1) A Promise of Fire (Kingmaker Chronicles #1)

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare: I finally read this one and I loved it way more than I thought I would. I definitely recommend it! But you really should read The Infernal Devices trilogy first. Both are way better than The Mortal Instruments and if you read LM first, you’ll be spoiled for some big things that happen in TID.
A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet: This was such a huge surprise!! I saw a few bloggers mention it and then it just happened to stare  me right in the face one day at the library, so I picked it up. And holy moly. I’m freaking loving it! (I’m only 75% of the way through so I’m kind of cheating here but I’m loving it so much I know it’ll be a favorite! Seriously, the characters are amazing. So go check it out!)

Coming Up On the Blog

For December, I’m winging it again. I’m so sorry, guys. I feel like such a failure this month! I just had such a hard time focusing on anything. And then my laptop charger stopped working. My computer has been at a 4% for week sand it’s so slow and my replacement charger didn’t work and it’s really frustrating because the charger will keep the computer from dying but makes it run so slow. I’ve ordered a new one that should get here today and I’m hoping for the best. I’ve started several posts in the last couple of weeks but have zero patience when it takes so long to format everything so I never end up finishing them. Hopefully, within the next day or so, it’ll all be back to normal.

I have a few blog tours I’m participating in and several reviews ready to get scheduled, so I know there will definitely be some posts going up! And maybe even an end of the year thing or two. Who knows! Who can even believe 2016 is almost over?!?! I’d be excited except that I’m not very hopeful that 2017 is actually going to be better.

What book are you really hoping to read before 2016 is over?

For me, it’s Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. I really hope to make it happen!

  1. I hope your laptop issue gets fixed!! I have zero patience for computer slowness, so I could totally understand not wanting to blog when your computer is doing that! The book I’m hoping to read before the end of the year is The Raven King. I still can’t believe I haven’t read it yet. I feel like a bad Raven Boys fan 🙁

Thank you! My new charger worked and it’s like having a brand new computer! LOL! I had wanted to finish The Raven Cycle this year too but time got away from me. I really enjoy the books but they’re slow reads for me. I still have the last two to read but they’re waiting at the library so hopefully I’ll get them finished by the end of January! I hope you love The Raven King!

  2. You had SUCH a great November, and that book mail! Oh, my penguins, that book mail is SO SUPER EPIC–here’s hoping you loveloveloooooooove them when you get around to picking them up! I’m especially stoked about Wintersong; I need that in my life SO BADLY.

I’m really hoping to get around to reading the rest of the books currently on my “for review” list honestly… I’d LOVE to get them all knocked out so I can start off the new year fresh, you know?!

Here’s hoping December treats you just as beautifully, and that you enjoy whichever books you pick up in the coming month! My Loved and Loathed (November 2016) post went up yesterday, if you’re interested in checking it out. No pressure or worries if you aren’t, though! Either way, happy book-ing, and happy December! <3
