So I think we all know how I feel about readathons, right? If I see one, I must participate! This is a new one to me. It’s called the Make Me Read It Readathon and it’s hosted by Ely and Val. It runs July 9-16. So you still have some time to sign up and get ready! Here are the rules (from Ely):
Look at the books you own, either physical, e-book or ones you’ve borrowed from the library and pick out a few you really want to read, or feel like you should read. It’s up to you how many you pick, personally I’d pick a few more than you expect to be able to read in a week. Example: if you think you’ll only read two, pick out five books or if you think you can read seven, pick out ten.
Make a list of these books on your blog, or make a video, or a Goodreads shelf or post a picture on Instagram—whatever is easiest for you. Then get friends, other bloggers/booktubers etc. to vote on which books you HAVE to read.
When the read-a-thon comes along, you read the books in the order of most votes. For example, if one book gets 10 votes—you read that first, then the one that got 7 and so on. If there’s a tie, then it’s your preference. The goal is to read as many as possible.
So with that in mind, I took a little tour of my bookshelves and picked out ten that I want you guys to vote on. I’m separating them into two different groups, one for published books and one for ARCs, and will read the ones with the most votes from each group. If by some crazy miracle I get through both of those and there’s still time left, I’ll go to the ones with the next highest votes, etc. I’m not sure I’ll be able to get more than 2 done but I’ll do my best. So here are the books I’ve chosen and the polls for you to vote!
These are all books I have that I have yet to read. So let me know which you think are the ones I NEED to read the most! The readathon starts July 9, so you have just about week to vote! I can’t wait to see what you guys will choose! I’ll make a new post when the readathon starts sharing which books were chosen and update my progress with them. And don’t forget that you still have time if you want to join in too!
