Top Ten Tuesday is hosted each week by The Broke and The Bookish and allows us to combine our love of books with our love of lists. This week’s topic is: Top Ten Books on My Fall TBR.

These lists are always so hard but also so much fun. September and early October are loaded with new releases and I’ve done pretty well getting my ARCs down to a manageable size. So my fall list is actually a lot of books that I own. And I’m so excited about it! There are still some review books on there, but with the releases slowing down around the end of the year, I’m taking advantage and not feeling guilty about digging into any book that I want!

Given all of that, these are the books I’m hoping to read this fall. Glancing back at my Summer TBR post, I was actually happy. I read 7 out of the ten I listed there. I know that’s a C and therefor not actually that good, but I’m so bad at making these lists and following through with them that I was actually pretty happy with that! I hope to do better with this one, but who knows. Out of those below, which ones do you think I should read first?

Every Word (Every, #2) The Bitter Kingdom (Fire and Thorns, #3)

Every Word by Ellie Marney: I’m so excited to have this sequel! I loved the first installment and this will definitely be one of the books I pick up soon. I have to read more about Mycroft and Watts!
The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson: I’ve had this book sitting on my shelf since it came out along with The Crown of Embers and just never picked them up. But after reading Walk on Earth a Stranger, I went right back to Rae’s first series. CoE was amazing! Now BK is on my reading list for October and I can’t wait!

Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) Ice Like Fire (Snow Like Ashes, #2)
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo: I’m so excited and so nervous for this. People have been loving it but it also has a pretty slow start. I’ve picked it up already and I liked the first few pages I’ve read but I also know it’ll take a while for me to really get into it. But I’m looking forward to finally having some time to devote to it!
Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch: Snow Like Ashes was one of my favorite fantasies of last year so I’m definitely excited to read this one!

Carry On A Madness So Discreet

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell: Of course this is on my list. Even though I know it’s publication date, I still hopefully check my mail every day in the hopes that my preorder gets mailed out early. I can’t wait for this. I know it’ll be different from her other books but I’m also excited for Simon and Baz!
A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis: Mindy lives in Ohio! And if you know about Ohio, then you know about the asylum in Athens, Ohio. This book is sort of based on that place. If you go to Mindy’s Pinterest page, you can find all kinds of photos from the old asylum. It’s super creepy! I can’t wait to read this book and see what comes out of that! Plus, I really loved her last series.

Wolf By Wolf (Wolf By Wolf, #1) The Mirror King (The Orphan Queen, #2)
Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin: This is one of my most anticipate fall releases. Which is weird because I’m not super into historical fiction but I really liked The Walled City and I LOVE that cover! I’m so excited to have an ARC and can’t wait to read it!
The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows: Yeah, I know. It doesn’t come out until, like, April. But I don’t care. I’ve actually already started this one. I’m reading it very slowly because what happens when I’m done?! The Orphan Queen is one of my favorite books this year but I read it so fast it was over just like that! And then that ending! So I’m taking this one slow and enjoying it. And yes, so far, I am enjoying it! I love this world and these characters!

Vengeance Road This Monstrous Thing

Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman: This was one I preordered but haven’t had a chance to read yet. I’m really excited to read a western and I’ve heard good things about it, so I’m looking forward to picking it up!
This Monstrous Thing by MacKenzie Lee: I don’t know what it is about this book, but it’s been calling to me! I’m on the wait list at my library but hopefully it won’t take too long to get through!

What books are on the top of your Fall TBR?

  1. It seems like all the cool kids will be reading Six of Crows this Fall XD The premise sounds cool and I might pick it up too. I just don’t know yet, haha. I’m half excited and half anxious about Carry On. I loved Simon Snow from Fangirl but I’m kind of scared the book will feel like a fanfic of Harry Potter, which is weird I know. I guess I’ll be waiting for the reviews before deciding on that one.
