April totally got away from me, guys. I don’t know how it happened but all of a sudden it’s May! I really don’t know where all the days in April went. Because of this, I got a little bit behind on posts. Hopefully I’ll get caught up this month and maybe even be able to plan ahead a little, especially since the kids get out of school this month (WHAT?!?!?!?!), but we’ll see. I’m just hoping May will bring good books, nice weather, and fun adventures!

Most Exciting Book Mail

Shadows of Sherwood (Robyn Hoodlum, #1) Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy, #1) A Million Miles Away

Shadows of Sherwood by Kekla Magoon: Thanks to BloomburyKids for this book! I love Robin Hood and all incarnations of that story and can’t wait to read this middle-grade version!
Red Rising by Pierce Brown: My #OTSPsecretsister came through for me again and got me this book I’ve been seriously lusting after! Can’t wait to read it!
A Million Miles Away by Lara Avery: I won this from The NOVL and I’m so excited to read it! I’ll need a rainy spring day to sit with this heartbreaking book!

Favorite April Reads

A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) Scarlet (Scarlet, #1) Darkfever (Fever, #1) None of the Above

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: I LOVED THIS!! Awesome Beauty and the Beast retelling with faeries and so much awesome. Tamlin, guys, Tamlin. (And Lucien for some of you.) Read the book. Better than ToG!
Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen: This was a reread because the third book is coming out in May and I love these books. I’m also partway through Lady Thief. I love these Robin Hood retellings! (see above. I’m obsessed.)
Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning: I was very pleasantly surprised by this book! I just bought the second in the series and am looking forward to finding out more about this world.
None of the Above by I.W. Gregorio: Definitely the book that taught me the most this month. I recommend this for its diversity and lessons on bullying and self-acceptance.

Coming Up in May

I’m not even really sure what’s coming up next month. As you can tell from the posts above, April was a light month here on the blog, though very busy in real life. Spring just tends to be like that. I’ve still been reading lots, just haven’t taken as much time to sit at the computer and write out the reviews and posts I need to. Maybe May will be the month I get caught up!

I do know that the Bout of Books Readathon will happen from May 11- 17! I’m participating in that and am hosting a challenge and giveaway on Monday! But the giveaway is only open to participants, so make sure you sign-up and get ready to read the whole week long!

I’ll also have reviews for The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, and Nowhere but Here by Katie McGarry. Also, hopefully, Lion Heart by A.C. Gaughen, The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, and Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen. But you never know.

Now, before I go, let’s all take just a minute to dance and celebrate all of the amazing books coming out in May!!
