August at a Glance

August went by fast and to be honest, I’m glad to see it go. August was a hard month for us. But we’re working on getting back on track and school has brought us a new schedule to get used to and we’re finally getting settled again. I’m hoping September will be much better for all of us.

I hope you’re August’s were all amazing! Because there was so much going on in my personal life, I wasn’t on the blog as much as I had planned to be. I still got to participate in Bout of Books, which was awesome, and the Beat the Heat Read-a-Thon, which helped me actually get through some books this month. But post and review wise, I just had a really hard time focusing. But as we’ll get settled back into a routine here at home, everything else will settle into place as well. There are lots of great things coming in September! I’m betting it’s going to be a great month! But first, here’s what happened in August:

Book Review: The Iron Trial by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black Book Review: The Beautiful Ashes by Jeaniene Frost Book Review: A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall Book Review: This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

Also, I stopped by Reading Away the Days with a guest post about My Favorite Books of the Summer!

Favorite Reads of August:

For a little while there I was worried I wasn’t going to finish any books in August. I couldn’t focus at all. But thankfully I had two readathons pushing me through. So while I didn’t read as much as I had originally hoped at the beginning of the month, I did actually finish a few books. My favorite of the month?

Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3)

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins. It was everything I needed at just the right time. I love these books. I hope you’ll pick it up if you’ve been waiting for it. And even if you haven’t. I loved it.

Coming in September

Like I said earlier, I’m really hoping September is going to be a great month. I’m excited for it because we’re going to Orlando for a quick trip to Harry Potter World and Disney. Then, I get to moderate an author event. I’M SO EXCITED FOR THIS!! Also, TERRIFIED. It’s the Sarah J. Maas tour stop with Emery Lord and I just about died when I was asked if I wanted to do it. How could anyone say no to that?! I’ll definitely have some sort of write up about that experience next month as well. And if you’re near any of these tour stops, I definitely recommend going. Also, Jason Segel is going to Cincinnati for his new book Nightmares! and I’m going to see him! So it’s going to be a great month for authors. On the blog, I’ll have reviews for Say What You Will and Isla and the Happily Ever After. Also, Heir of Fire, Zac & Mia, and Sway and hopefully lots more. I don’t know about you, but I have a ton of September books to read!

And, as always, because you guys are awesome and I don’t say it nearly enough:

Thank you for being here!!
