I’m so excited to be hosting a challenge for the End of the Year 2013 #ReadingCram Readathon! The readathon, if you don’t know, is hosted by Juliababyjen’s Reading Room and Dana Square. Sign-ups for this Readathon are still open and it lasts until December 22nd, so if you aren’t participating yet, I highly recommend you head on over to one of their blogs and sign yourself up. Besides finishing out 2013 by reading a lot of books, you also get to participate in fun challenges like this one, enter to win prizes, and join in on fun Twitter chats! Once you sign up, come back here and participate in my challenge!
Today, I’m hosting a Spine Poetry Challenge! If you don’t know the rules, I’ll share them here:
- You must use book spines to make a poem.
- For this challenge, you can only use books that you read in 2013.
- You can include as many extra words in your poem as books that you use. If you used four books for your poem, you can use four extra words.
- You must post your poem or a photo of your poem and then come back and link it up here.
What makes this Spine Poem Challenge difficult is that you ONLY use books you’ve read in 2013. Between that limit and including only books I owned, I had a pretty difficult time coming up with something. Here’s what I did make:
The Sky is Everywhere in
The Distance Between Us.
No One Else Can Have You,
The Girl of Fire and Thorns.
So, like I said, it’s not great. But it’s something. So go on and make your own poem out of books you’ve read in 2013. And if you want to include books you don’t own and would rather just write out your poem without a photo, that’s fine. Just make sure you post the poem somewhere and link it up here! I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!
And as an added incentive for you to join the readathon and complete this challenge, there is a giveaway!! Here are the rules:
