Reading Queue is a new monthly meme hosted by Books: A True Story and Book Tasty where we can get together and talk about the books we hope to read in the coming month and the books we read last month. So write up your own Reading Queue post and then go check them out!
I’m actually feeling pretty good about my review piles right now. Besides a few books that I missed in the spring, I have nothing coming up until August. I took a little break from requesting books in the early spring after being totally overwhelmed by my winter schedule and this feels so much better. So for July, I plan to read a few of those August review books as well as a few books that I already own that I just haven’t had time to read yet.
The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle and The Beginning of Everything (aka Severed Heads, Broken Hearts) by Robyn Schneider: Both of these come out in August and I was so happy to be approved for eARCs of them. I’ve heard great things about them and I can’t wait to dig in!
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas: Um, hell yes. I can’t wait to read this one. I think I may have jumped a little when I discovered I was approved for it. I loved Throne of Glass and can’t wait to find out why everyone who’s read this already loves it too! Plus, I miss Chaol.
Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller: This doesn’t come out until September but I can’t wait that long! I loved Something Like Normal so so much. I’m definitely excited to jump into this one!
In Honor by Jessi Kirby and Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins: I recently bought both of these and am looking forward to finally reading them. I loved Kirby’s recent book Golden and I hear Hex Hall is very funny. I could use some funny this summer!
Read in June
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo: Man, I love this series. This one dragged a little for me in the middle but I still love the characters and can’t wait to see what comes next for them! – Review
Dare You To by Katie McGarry: Wow, this was a great book. I loved it so much, even more than Pushing the Limits. I loved Beth, Ryan, Isaiah, and everyone. It was fantastic. – Review
How My Summer Went Up in Flames by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski: This was a quick, fun summer read with an impulsive MC, a road trip, and lots of country music. – Review
Catching Liam by Sophie Bleu: I fell in love with the characters in this book. I’m participating in the blog tour later this month, so you can check out my review then!
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey: I loved this alien invasion book and will hopefully get a review up soon! If you haven’t read it yet, go check it out! If you like audios, this one was awesome.
Just One Day by Gayle Forman: Forman really knows how to punch you in the gut, doesn’t she? I didn’t love this one like I did her other series, but I was definitely emotionally involved by the end and am dying to read Just One Year now!
The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe: This was a really interesting sci-fi book about a disease that takes over a community and one teen’s experience with how her community comes together and falls apart during the epidemic. – Review
The Boyfriend App by Katie Sise: This one, unfortunately, did not work for me. I’ve got a review scheduled for later this week, so you can see then where it fell apart for me. Hopefully, if you read it, you’ll have more luck!
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake: I just finished this one yesterday! It was a good ghost story with great characters and a really exciting finale! I’ll have a review up soon!
That’s it! I’m still shocked I read so much in June! I usually read about 6 books per month but I got 9 in last month! I didn’t read exactly the same books I had originally planned; I have a hard time knowing exactly what I’ll feel like reading and I won’t limit myself just to the list I made as long as I’m on track with my review books. So these are the ones I ended up with and I’ll read those others a different time. July, sadly, won’t be nearly as productive as June, but I’m really excited for the ones I’ve got coming up so it’ll still be awesome!
If you’ve got a reading queue post or a monthly wrap up post, leave me a link so I can come see what you’re reading!
