Weekly Wrap-Up 8/27/12

You guys, my little guy started first grade last week.

That's pretty much what the week was all about. Meeting his teacher, ice cream socials, enjoying the last bit of summer, packing up supplies, and readjusting bedtimes. It was his first time being gone all day, but his best friend is in his class and everything seemed to go well. We're all ready for another week. And me? I read three books last week. It seems I might have a bit more time with just one kiddo at home, although I certainly don't think I'll keep up that kind of reading pace for long. Either way, it was a good week around here and we're excited for a new one. Here's a look back at last week and look forward to this one.

Top Ten Tuesday was you Favorite Books You've Read During The Lifespan Of Your Blog. It was a good week to be a relatively new blog. I didn't have that many books to choose from! But still, I've read a lot of great books, especially ones I wouldn't have found otherwise. It was a nice chance to look back over the last five-ish months.

I worked up a Kindle Book Deals post. Some of those books are on their monthly $3.99 and under special, so you've only got a few more days to get them at that price! Go check them out, you won't want to miss them.

I posted my review for Every Day by David Levithan. His book comes out tomorrow, so go check my review so you can be ready to read it!

Books

I finished three books this week, which is unheard of outside of a read-a-thon. I read Easy by Tammara Webber and it was so good. It was one of those books that everyone talks about but doesn't seem like it could be that good then it turns out that it is that good. I'm really glad I took a chance and bought it when I did. I also read The Mine by John A Heldt and completely loved the ending. And last night I finished The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. She sure knows how to write a good YA romance, doesn't she? It was a really good week for reading books for me.

This Week

Posts

Top Ten Tuesday this week is all about our Top Ten Bookish Confessions (Anything! You dog ear, you hated a book  but said you loved it, you have $500 library fines...anything goes!). I'm not sure I'll get all the way up to ten, but it's sure to be interesting nonetheless!

Wednesday I'll be taking part in the Last Summer Blog Tour by posting my review of the book.

I'll also be posting my review of The Mine by John A. Heldt and an Anticipated September Releases post highlighting some of the books set to come out next month.

Don't forget! My August New Release Giveaway ends Friday at midnight, so if you haven't entered to win, don't wait too much longer!

Books

I'll be starting Henry Franks: A Novel by Peter Adam Salomon. It's said to be a psychological thriller, so I'm really looking forward to it. I'm not sure what other book I'll pick up this week. I'm leaving it open.

That's it for this wrap-up. I am going to leave you with a question though. What's your favorite Sarah Dessen? I just read my first this week and now I want to know people's favorites. Are some better than others? Which one should I read next? :-)
