Weekly Wrap-Up: 8/13/12

Last week passed in a blur. The read-a-thon was going on, we were getting reading for school, my husband was in a cycling race, we got the rest of my daughter's new furniture, went to a baseball game, and did some work around the house. Lots of things going on, as usual. But I actually feel like we accomplished some things, which is more than some other busy weeks end. This is the last full week around here before school starts, so we're going to try to make the most of it. Here's a recap of last week's blog busyness and a preview of what's to come this week.

Last Week

Posts

On Tuesday I wrote a Kindle Book Deal post. If you check out the books now, make sure you look at the final price on the Amazon page because the prices change often for ebooks.

On Wednesday, the Young Adult Giveaway Hop started. The giveaway is open until tomorrow at midnight, so go enter now if you haven't yet!

Also on Wednesday I wrote a Waiting on Wednesday post where I highlighted Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor. Can't wait for this book!

On Friday I published my review of Glitch by Heather Anastasiu.

I also wrote two updates for the Summer Wrap-Up Read-a-Thon here and here.

Books

I finally got some books read! Thanks to the Read-a-Thon. I finsihed Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, which was great. I also read Glitch by Heather Anastasiu, Last Summer by Rebecca A Rogers, and Every Day by David Levithan. I don't think I've ever read that much in one week before. It was awesome.

Like I said last week, I'm not allowed to buy books for a long time and this week, at least, I kept to that! It's amazing, but I didn't buy any this week. I also kept away from NetGalley and Edelweis. I need to catch up a bit before requesting or buying any more books!

This Week

Posts

I already posted my final Summer Wrap-Up Read-a-Thon post earlier today.

I want to try to post a Top Ten Tuesday list this week because it's been a while since I've participated in that meme and I actually miss it. This week's theme is: Top Ten Book Romances That You Think Would Make It In The Real World (outside the book).

On Wednesday, I'll be participating in the August New Release Giveaway Hop hosted by Book Twirps! The giveaway will run from August 15-31.

I also hope to get a book review posted and an end-of-the summer post.

Books

Now that the read-a-thon (I promise, that's the last you'll hear about it!) is over, I won't be reading quite so much. I've got The Mine by John A Heldt to finish and then I'm pretty open. I think I might start Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles because I've read some good things about it and seen some comparisons to Pushing the Limits, which I really liked. I might also try to knock another book off of my Summer TBR pile, since summer's almost over and I'm not even close to finishing those books. But I'm not committed to anything else until September after this, so I'm leaving it a little open. If you could read anything, what would you pick up?
