Another week has passed and lots has happened. The Olympics started and we watch them as much as we can. Are you watching? There have already been some surprising moments. We also wrapped up two giveaways over here and are getting ready to wrap up another. We’ll say goodbye to July and hello to August this week. That also means we’re getting ready to get back to school. This year I’ll have a first grader and a preschooler. I still can’t wrap my mind around that. August will brings lots of fun things at home and the blog. But for now we’ll focus on what happened last week and what’s coming up this week.

Last Week

Tuesday’s Top Ten topic was the Top Ten Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In Books.

I wrote a book review for Blackbrooke by Emma Silver. If you’re looking for a YA horror book, get Blackbrooke. It’s seriously good and a definite thriller.

I participated in the blog tour for Blackbrooke on Wednesday and I was so excited. I had a guest post from Liberty Connor, the main character from Blackbrooke.

I highlighted Splintered by A.G. Howard for my Waiting on Wednesday post. If you haven’t heard of it, go check it out!

I’ve been in another reading slump, getting through just one book this week. I finally picked up This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers because I’d heard such great things about it. It was my first zombie book and seemed to be a pretty tame one to start with. Definitely an interesting read. I am also still reading The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer. To me honest, I’m not really getting that into it. I want to finish it to see where it goes, but it’s not really grabbing me.

This Week

If you haven’t noticed, I’m a little behind right now. I don’t have any posts set up for this week. My plan is to get a Top Ten Tuesday, a book review posted for Pushing the Limits, a post of upcoming August releases, and a wrap-up post for my July New Release Giveaway. That giveaway is open until Tuesday at midnight, so go enter if you haven’t already!

I’m still working on finishing The Wishing Spell, but I hope to get through it this week. I’m also set to read The Mine by John A. Heldt and Glitch by Heather Anastasiu. After that, the Summer Wrap-Up Read-A-Thon, hosted by Some Like it Paranormal and In Between, starts on Saturday. I’m still getting my list together of books I want to read that week, but I’m hoping I’ll get through at least four. It’s not very many, but it’s my first read-a-thon and I’m pretty sure I’ll only be able to ignore my kids for so long during the day before they get completely out of hand.

Okay, that’s really all I’ve got for this week’s wrap-up. I’m sorry I’m not more prepared right now. I’ll get back on track later this week. Summer has been pretty all over the place for me.
