Okay, so last week didn’t exactly go as I had planned. I did not get nearly as much accomplished as I had set out to. But when do I ever? Here’s a recap of what happened last week in case you missed it and a look forward to what’s happening this week.
Top Ten Tuesday last week was all about the Books We’d Like to be Made into Movies. It was difficult coming up with some of them, nobody likes to see their favorite books ruined by a terrible movie!
I reviewed Unearthly by Cynthia Hand and gave it 3/5 stars.
And Friday’s Feature and Follow was about what we’d like to tell our favorite authors. Things got a little mushy.
I finished Hourglass by Myra McEntire and loved it. I also finished City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare. Just in time for the release of City of Lost Souls tomorrow!
Lots of exciting posts coming up this week!
Monday is the start of Children’s Book Week, which is a week long celebration that encourages children to read. As part of the celebration, I will be participating in the Children’s Book Week Giveaway Hop hosted by I Am a Reader, Not a Writer, KidLitFrenzy, Classic Children’s Book, and Mymcbooks. The giveaway starts Monday May 7th and runs until May 13th.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday will be about our Favorite Quotes from Books. Check out The Broke and the Bookish for rules on participating and then link up your own post on Tuesday.
I’m hoping to get my reviews for Wonder by R.J. Palacio and Hourglass by Myra McEntire up this week as well. I loved both of these books, so even if you don’t read my reviews, go check them out! I also have a review of City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare floating around in my head. But we’ll see if I actually write it down.
Coming up next on my to-read list are: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin, Timepiece by Myra McEntire, and The Iron King by Julie Kagawa! I’m excited about finally reading all of these!
I only got one book from the library this week: Masque of the Red Death!
Of course, I had to buy Insurgent.
And I was lucky enough to win Incarnate from Amanda from Book Love 101 and her No Strings Attached Giveaway! Thanks, Amanda!
That’s all I’ve got for this week’s wrap-up. If you’ve done a wrap-up or mailbox post, then leave a link in the comments so I can come check it out!
